Music and Television Companies Top YouTube Partner Channel Rankings

Tokyo, Japan, February 21, 2013 – comScore Japan K.K., a wholly owned subsidiary of comScore, Inc., today released data from comScorecomScore Video Metrix showing that 60 million Japanese internet users watched online videos in December 2012. The top 3 video properties by viewing audience in Japan were Google Sites, Dwango, and FC2, while VEVO, Fuji Television, and Sony Music Entertainment Japan ranked as the most popular YouTube Partner Channels.

FC2 Leads Top 10 Video Properties in Average Engagement

Google Sites, driven primarily by video viewing on YouTube, ranked as the top online video content property in December 2012 with 50 million unique viewers. Dwango Co., Ltd ranked second with 29 million viewers, followed by FC2 with 22 million viewers. DMM, although lower in the rankings with 5.2 million unique viewers, showed a year-over-year increase of 713 percent, the highest growth rate among the top 10 properties. In terms of engagement (Minutes per Viewer), FC2  ranked first among the top 10 with more than 23 hours per viewer while boasting the fastest year-over-year growth of 79 percent.  (more…)

Brazilian Online Video Audience Reaches 43 Million Unique Viewers in December 2012

Analysis of Online Video in Brazil Shows Facebook as the Fastest Growing Top 10 Online Video Destination in Past Year

Sao Paulo, Brazil, February 6, 2013 – comScore , a leader in measuring the digital world, today released an analysis on online comScorevideo activities in Brazil based on insights from its comScore Video Metrix service. The study found that Google Sites is the largest online video destination in Brazil, while Facebook is the fastest growing among the top ten. The study also showed that Brazil is the seventh largest online video market worldwide with a viewing audience of 43 million people in December.

Top 10 Video Content Properties by Unique Viewers

Google Sites, driven primarily by video viewing at YouTube.com, ranked as the top online video content property in February with 147.4 million unique viewers, followed by Yahoo! Sites with 60.9 million, VEVO with 52 million, Facebook.com with 43.6 million and Viacom Digital with 43.2 million. Nearly 38 billion video views occurred during the month, with Google Sites generating the highest number at 16.7 billion, followed by Hulu with 951 million and Yahoo! Sites with 721 million. 64 Percent of UK Online Video Audience Exposed to Video Ads in January

*Males Showed 3x Higher Engagement with Online Content Videos than Females*

LONDON, UK, 7 March 2012 – comScore, Inc., a leader in measuring the digital world, today released UK data from the comScore Video Metrix service, showing online video consumption in January 2012. Online video reached 34 million UK internet users, representing 80 percent of the total UK internet audience, with Google Sites ranking as the leading video destination with nearly 30 million unique viewers. An analysis of online content video and video ad viewers showed that 64.1 percent of the online video audience was exposed to a video ad, with the 15-24 age group representing the largest video ad audience in terms of both unique viewers and engagement.

YouTube Helps Propel Google Sites as Top Online Video Destination
34.2 million UK internet users saw a total of nearly 8.4 billion videos for 58.8 billion minutes in January. While the size of the UK online video audience has not grown in the past six months, the number of videos viewed has grown 28 percent while the total time users spent engaging with online video grew 42 percent, suggesting that online video viewers continue to become more engaged over time. Google Sites, driven primarily by video viewing at YouTube.com, ranked as the top online video content property in February with 141.1 million unique viewers. Microsoft Sites captured the #2 ranking (up from #7) with 48.8 million viewers, followed by Yahoo! Sites with 46.7 million viewers. Facebook.com came in fourth with nearly 46.7 million viewers, while VEVO ranked fifth with 45.9 million viewers.
