Currently, it’s me Shams, and Rose are managing the BlogField. We hope soon some new faces will join us and we will enter into a broader spectrum of BlogUniverse. I am doing my Ph.D about environmental pollution and bioremediation of contaminated sites. Rose is doing her Ph.D in developing tools integrated into Geographic Information System (GIS) to model changes due to mining activities.

Update: On Monday, May 31st 2010, Rose accomplished her Ph.D in the Institute of Geotechnical Engineering and Mine Surveying, Clausthal University of Technology (TU-Clausthal). So now Rose is Dr.-Ing. Rose (Ishtar Bashar).
Update: Since Oct’ 2008 I am doing my post-doc in the Martin-Luther University, Halle, Germany. It’s in the Institute of Geosciences, Department – Engineering Geology. Yours Shams, 16th March 2010.
Update: On Monday, April 28, I have accomplished my Ph.D studies. I obtained an “Excellent” grade. The audience was full. The ‘Rigorosum’ started at 16.00 and ended at 18.00. Afterwards we had a small celebration!!! My dissertation is titled “Chromium contamination from tannery wastes in the soils of Hazaribagh area in Dhaka City, Bangladesh, and aspects of its Phytoremediation”. I completed my Ph.D at the Department of Geography and Geology, University of Salzburg, Austria. I hope to pursue further research in environmental fields. Cheers!!! Yours Shams, 3rd of May 2008.
