Imame in Österreich sind – zusätzlich zu ihrem problematischen Rechtsstatus und migrationsbedingten Herausforderungen – in ihrer Moscheegemeinde häufig mit Situationen konfrontiert, für die sie weder theologisch noch praktisch gerüstet sind. Dies ist auch ein wesentlicher Faktor, warum der Beitrag der Imame zur gesellschaftlichen Integration der von ihnen betreuten Gläubigen ein eingeschränkter ist.
