Remarkable Résumé: UA Student Journalist’s Career Includes CNN, New York Times
UA journalism student Amer Taleb has already had a stellar undergraduate career, working in newsrooms across the nation.
Amer Taleb‘s journalistic talent took him to Japan this summer, where he and other winners of the Roy W. Howard National Collegiate Reporting Competition toured multiple cities on a nine-day study trip. While in Hiroshima, he bought a silver keychain in the shape of a coin that was inscribed with a charge to work toward a more peaceful world. (more…)

Konrad Heil wurde 1952 geboren und studierte nach einer Bankausbildung Betriebswirtschaft und Wirtschaftspädagogik. Er war viele Jahre im Management tätig und lehrte außerdem als Kommunikationstrainer. Seit 2011 ist er katholischer Priester der Erzdiözese Berlin. Neben der Gemeindeseelsorge ist er auch in der Internetseelsorge aktiv, außerdem engagiert er sich zusätzlich sowohl in der Einzelbegleitung als auch in Gruppenexerzitien. (more…)
Interview with Baban Mohamed: ‘Code-switching’, a research project on Kurdish community in Austria
Baban Mohamed received his Master’s degree in English and American Studies (General/Applied Linguistics) from the University of Salzburg in Austria. He has B.A. degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Sulaimania (the Kurdistan Region of Iraq). Since 2005 Baban is living and studying in the beautiful Mozart’s City of Music, Salzburg. His research interests cover the areas of bilingual/ bicultural acquisition, child code-switching and sociolinguistics. (more…)

‘Life as Research Scientist’: Anna Troupe, Creative Designer and Social Thinker
Anna Marie Troupe was born in Mississippi in 1977 and grew up in Huntsville, Alabama. The fifth daughter of a mechanical engineer and an administrative assistant, Anna made a point of pushing the boundaries of her creativity. She studied furniture design at Savannah College of Art and Design and had the honor of exhibiting a chair at the Salone del Mobila in Milan, Italy. Her work was also published in a book called, “Creative Solutions for Unusual Projects.”

‘Life as Research Scientist’: Carla Spence, Biologist
Carla Spence is graduating with a Ph.D in Molecular Biology and Genetics from the University of Delaware in Summer 2014. She entered graduate school after receiving her B.S. in biology from the same University. Kabore Noel: Erst einmal muss ich ehrlich sagen, die Liebe ist groß und wenn ich die Liebe beschreiben würde, würde ich sagen, dass ist ein Instrument, was uns Menschen verbindet.
Liebe bekommt keine Anerkennung, du kannst sie nicht wiegen ,Liebe hat keine Maße, Bedingungen gibt es nicht in der Liebe man sollte Liebe nehmen wie sie ist, nämlich ohne Maße unberechenbar. (more…)
