In ihrer heute im Fachjournal „Nature Communications“ erschienenen Studie zeigen die Forscher, dass „Gigantismus“ keine Seltenheit bei frühen Pinguinen war und sich vermutlich als Folge der Flugunfähigkeit dieser Vögel entwickelte.
