Das Zentrum für Populäre Kultur und Musik beherbergt Hunderte Parodien des Weihnachtsklassikers
„Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht“ eroberte die Welt rasant: 1818 in Salzburg/Österreich entstanden, wurde das Lied schnell in vielen Ländern gesungen, gehört, illustriert und gedruckt. „Im Laufe der Zeit kamen Parodien des Weihnachtsklassikers auf, die zeigen, wie beliebt das Lied war und wie unterschiedlich es interpretiert werden konnte“, sagt Dr. Dr. Michael Fischer, Leiter des Zentrums für Populäre Kultur und Musik (ZPKM). Die Forschungseinrichtung der Universität Freiburg beherbergt Hunderte von Varianten des Klassikers, die im Laufe von 100 Jahren gesammelt wurden – von sozialkritischen Parodien über kriegspropagandistische Umdeutungen bis zu humoristischen Verballhornungen.
