Norwegen gilt als fortschrittlich in der Umweltpolitik, erlaubt aber weitere Ölbohrungen in der Arktis. Greenpeace Nordic klagt dagegen – und beruft sich auf Norwegens Verfassung.
Das Recht auf eine gesunde Umwelt, für diese und kommende Generationen, steht in Norwegen sogar in der Landesverfassung: Artikel 112 besagt genau das. Doch dieses Grundrecht ist in Gefahr: Das Land erlaubt Statoil und zwölf weiteren Firmen, darunter auch DEA, neue Ölbohrungen in der Barentssee. Das bedeutet, in der Arktis würden Millionen Tonnen Erdöl gefördert, deren Verbrauch Unmengen CO2 produziert und die Erderwärmung weiter anheizt. Das widerspricht nicht nur dem Pariser Klimaschutzabkommen – es verstößt eben auch gegen die norwegische Verfassung. (more…)
