COLUMBIA, Mo. – The recent economic decline has caused many newspapers across the country to make significant cutbacks in staffing and coverage. An MU journalism expert says one area of news that has suffered from these cutbacks is religion news. Debra Mason, professor of journalism studies at the Missouri School of Journalism and director of the Center on Religion and the Professions, says that religion news, which was once routine in many newspapers, has now been relegated to websites and blogs. WASHINGTON — Large changes in the Sun’s energy output may cause Earth’s outer atmosphere to contract, new research indicates. A study published today by the American Geophysical Union links a recent, temporary shrinking of a high atmospheric layer with a sharp drop in the Sun’s ultraviolet radiation levels. (more…)

Sao Paulo, Brazil, August 27, 2010 – comScore, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCOR), a leader in measuring the digital world, today released a study on online video consumption in Brazil. The study found that in July 2010 more than 35 million Brazilians watched online video, representing approximately 85 percent of the total online population. The study, which tracked the video viewing behavior of Brazilians during the months of the World Cup, reported that Brazilians watched a total of 6.7 billion videos during June and July combined.
