Ein internationales ForscherInnenteam um Giorgia Silani von der Fakultät für Psychologie der Universität Wien hat sich in einem aktuellen Forschungsprojekt damit auseinandergesetzt, welche Rolle der Sulcus Temporalis Superior – eine bestimmte Gehirnregion – bei der Bildung moralischer Urteile spielt. Wie die WissenschafterInnen herausgefunden haben, bringen wir für Menschen, die unabsichtlich Schaden angerichtet haben, mehr Verständnis auf, wenn diese Region höher entwickelt ist. In a second human case, a Yale-led research team has found that a melanoma cell and a white blood cell can fuse to form a hybrid with the ability to metastasize. The finding provides further insight into how melanoma and other cancers spread from solid tumors with implications for future treatment. (more…)

PROVIDENCE, R.I. [Brown University] —A study by Linford D. Fisher, associate professor of history at Brown University, finds that Native Americans, including noncombatants, who surrendered during King Philip’s War to avoid enslavement were enslaved at nearly the same rate as captured combatants.
