UCLA helps virtual reality lead the charge in battle for U.S. Army recruitment

The UCLA Army ROTC is working to inspire people to choose the U.S. military as a potential career path. Students from the current Bruin battalion appear in the Army’s first virtual reality recruitment video, which can be viewed through nearly any virtual reality viewer, including Google Cardboard, Samsung Gear VR, HTC Vive or Oculus Rift. Forensic Technique Uses Forehead X-Rays to Assess Age of Juvenile Remains

Forensic anthropology researchers at North Carolina State University have developed a technique that can provide an approximate age for juveniles and young people based on an X-ray of the frontal sinus region of the skull. The technique can be used to help identify human remains in forensic cases, as well as to determine age ranges in archaeological research or for living people for whom no records are available.
