Scientists in the Foja Mountains of the Indonesians province Papua have discovered two mammals – a giant rat and a pygmy possum (a nocturnal arboreal marsupial) in June this year.
In Kenya, a new species of giant cobra which is about nine feet in length and can kill at least 15 people (such much venom it possesses and at least 15 🙂 ) has also been discovered this year.
Scientists believe to find more new species in Indonesia’s “Lost World”. We will certainly hear the new discoveries in 2008.
Happy 2008 – “Happy New Year”.
Cheers !!!
