Looks quite certain that Senator Barack Obama is going to have the glory to be the first ‘black president’ of the mightiest country on Earth. Although neither Mrs. Clinton nor Senator Obama is expected to reach the required number of delegates right now and would have to depend on ‘superdelegates’ (party leaders and officials), but the Senator is hopeful towards his “journey to change America”. CNN worked day and night for us to get the updates 🙂 .

Climbing the World’s Peak at 75

A 75-years old Japanese mountaineer is going to break the record of ‘oldest man climbed the Mt. Everest’. His predecessor is a 71 years old Japanese who still holds the record since 2007. Name of our ‘going to be hero’ is Yuichiro Miura. 

Well it’s all fight among the Japanese. We are out of the ring anyway 🙂 .

Extinction rate is higher, says the German Environment Minister

German Environment Minister, Sigmar Gabriel told a conference in Bonn that extinction rate for plants and animals is hundred to thousand times higher than the natural trend. It’s a U.N. biodiversity conference that plans to work out lines to slow down the extinction by 2010. Target line is too short. But steps to move forward are promising. Reuters news.

Polar Bears (getting attention)

It’s old news already. But good to hear again. Polar bear is now in the list of endangered species of U.S government. Polar bears sea ice habitat has melted dramatically in recent decades (a clear sign of global warming). And further receding of polar ice is likely in the coming years (45 years in the count that the PBs will face trouble harder).

Arsenic in the park and phytoremediation

When the U.S Geological Survey geographer Terry Slonecker was going through aerial photographs, he could easily detect the stress and stunted growth of trees and grass in the park in Washington that led him to conclude its arsenic. He was in fact looking for arsenic in a nearby area used for military activities in World War I. But the park has no history of WWI activities rather it goes back to the American Civil War which occurred between 1861 to 1865. But how it could leave arsenic there?

There are 18 entries in dictionary.com for ‘friend’. It can be a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard, or a person whom one knows, likes and trusts (these two seems to be the best ones).
