Bilanz nach fünf Jahren Wald- und Klimaschutz in Indonesien
„Harapan“ lautet das Motto eines nun auslaufenden Klimaschutzprojektes auf der indonesischen Insel Sumatra. „Harapan“ bedeutet in der Landessprache „Hoffnung“. Das Projekt, das aus Mitteln der Internationalen Klimainitiative (IKI) des deutschen Bundesumweltministeriums (BMUB) gefördert wurde, gilt als Leuchtturm-Vorhaben im Tropenwaldschutz. Die knapp 100.000 Hektar große Region beherbergt einen der letzten Tieflandregenwälder Sumatras und ist eine Insel in einem Meer von Ölpalmen. (more…)
