Cyclone in Myanmar and the earthquake in China

Cyclone Nargis took a toll of more than 34,000 lives, while more than 27,000 are missing (according to the Government of Myanmar) although United Nations estimates death toll between 63,000 to 100,000. The tropical cyclone Nargis hit Myanmar on May 2.

The 7.9 magnitude earthquake hit the Sichuan province of China on May 12. The quake’s epicentre was located in the city of Yingxiu in Wenchuan county 90 km northwest of the provincial capital of Chengdu. Official death toll is nearly 15,000 while tens of thousands are buried or missing.

Roughly 150,000 are dead from these two events that took place within 10 days apart.

Unfortunate, and we express our deep sorrow and sympathy for the lost ones and to their families.
