Bought but never touched = £6 billion

Guardian reports that Britons waste about 10 billion pound sterling worth of food a year. 60% or £6 billion worth of food is never opened at all but simply thrown away. Decomposition of organic wastes (food as an example) will release CO2 to the environment, which is one of the major concerns of climate changes. This is about Britain but what about other countries?

Yahoo! duck – Mother’s Day

A lot of changes are happening in Yahoo! from shifting its logo on to the search box, making the search box more attractive and interactive. Now you will see a mom duck walking the screen with her 5 kids. Kids do as usual, they follow their mom. Strictly disciplined 🙂 . The yellow duck and her ducklings are pretty beautiful. Cute.

Jenny, a 213-pound female gorilla is celebrating her 55th birthday at the Dallas Zoo. Normally gorillas live 30 to 35 years in the wild. Then how Jenny could reach almost double of normal years for gorillas. Simply good care and protection from predators. “Happy Birthday to You Jenny”!!!

Looks like Senator Barack Obama is going to get the nomination from the Democratic Party – the first black president of US (if elected) and may be it will be rolling over the centuries ahead. A breakthrough!!

The Chaiten Volcano after 9,000 years

The Chaiten volcano in southern Chile sprung to life for the first time in thousands of years. The powerful eruption sent ash more than 20 km into the sky and caused a poor visibility in the area. After drifting across Argentina (the southern most country), the plume of ash dissipated over the Atlantic.
