Geolog*innen liefern wichtigen Puzzlestein zur Frage, wie sich das Mineral Dolomit bildet

Eine internationale Forschungsgruppe um den Geologen Patrick Meister von der Universität Wien konnte im Schlamm des Neusiedler Sees erstmals Nanostrukturen des Minerals Dolomit nachweisen. Damit könnte die Wissenschaft der Lösung des “Dolomit-Problems” – also der Frage, wie sich Dolomit aus Sedimenten an der Erdoberfläche bildet – einen entscheidenden Schritt nähergekommen sein.
