The macaque rampant

Monkeys rampaged – destroyed hundreds of acres farmland and stole crops. The incident occurred in Java, and the complex of centuries old Buddhist Temple of ‘Borobudur’ was not either left from their aggressive move. The Temple is one of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites.

High monkey population and scarcity of food can be suspected as the reasons that drove them to insanity. Moreover, large population means big ‘monkey military’ was engaged in the mission. However, farmers used firecrackers to push them out from their fields. 🙂

The long-tailed Java monkeys are very special. Watching the video, we wonder what they can’t do. Nevertheless we solemnly condemn this reckless behaviour. 😎
