Wie die Mikrobiom-Analyse zum “Pickerl” kommt

ForscherInnen entwickeln Prüfverfahren am Weg zum individuellen Arzneimittel

Ein internationales ForscherInnenteam um die Bioinformatiker Dmitrij Turaev und Thomas Rattei von der Universität Wien entwickelte in einer Computersimulation eine Methode, um künftige Genomanalysen – vor allem jene des Mikrobioms – zu prüfen, aussagekräftig interpretieren zu können sowie Lücken in der Datenanalyse zu schließen. Die ersten Ergebnisse dieses “Pickerl”-Tests liegen nun vor und wurden im Fachjournal “Nature Methods” publiziert.
