Ban Ki-Moon übernimmt Führung im Klimaschutz

Der UN-Generalsekretär Ban Ki-Moon hat zum Klima-Sondergipfel geladen und mehr als 120 Staats- und Regierungschefs sind der Einladung gefolgt – die deutsche Bundeskanzlerin hat abgesagt. Der Sondergipfel in New York gilt als ein wichtiger Termin auf dem Weg nach Paris, wenn dort im Dezember 2015 ein neues globales Klimaschutzabkommen beschlossen werden soll. Im Vorfeld des Gipfels waren rund um den Globus Hunderttausende Menschen auf die Straßen gegangen, um für mehr Klimaschutz und gegen die exorbitante Verbrennung von Kohle, Öl und Gas zu demonstrieren.
