Oymyakon is a small Siberian village where mothers think it’s warm outside for their kids until the temperature falls below -40°C. And what the kids think? 🙂
They are simply not afraid of the cold but of the dogs because dogs can bite you, not the cold. ‘Brave’ is not the right word to describe the courage of these children, we need to find a new word. However, the Headmaster declares a off-day for school when the temperature goes below – 52°. Hummmm……………
According to Wikipedia, an extrapolated measurement of temperature in this small village went down to -71.2°C on January 26, 1926.
However, the name Oymyakon, sounds like Ohh…My…Cold.
