Coinbase, the San Francisco based cryptocurrency exchange, just announced the formation of Coinbase Ventures. It means, as Emilie Choi wrote in her blog post: „We’ll be providing financing to promising early stage companies that have the teams and ideas that can move the space forward in a positive, meaningful way.“
Although almost all the coins on Coinmarketcap showing ‘red trends’ at the very moment, but growing number of people are now investing in cryptocurrencies. Reason is very clear and also echoes IMF Chief Christine Lagarde’s point. And Emilie Choi mentioned it again:
„As Vitalik said so well in December last year, the digital currency ecosystem has the opportunity to transform the lives of billions of people, but we have only just scratched the surface of what’s possible.“
