Archäologen ergänzen nach neuen Funden eine der 40.000 Jahre alten Löwendarstellungen ‒ Figur im Museum der Universität Tübingen MUT ausgestellt

Wissenschaftlern der Universität Tübingen ist es gelungen, eine weitere eiszeitliche Elfenbeinfigur aus der Vogelherd-Höhle zu vervollständigen. Die Tierfigur, die vor 40.000 Jahren aus Mammut-Elfenbein geschnitzt und 1931 bei Ausgrabungen entdeckt wurde, konnte nun mit einem Teil des Kopfes ergänzt werden. Die vollständige Eiszeitskulptur ist ab 30. Juli 2014 im Museum der Universität Tübingen MUT zu sehen. Die Entdeckung erscheint, ebenfalls am 30.Juli, in der aktuellen Ausgabe der Zeitschrift „Archäologische Ausgrabungen in Baden-Württemberg“. (more…)
