Not Yuichiro Miura, it’s Min Bahadur Sherchan

No place for the 75 years old Japanese mountaineer Yuichiro Miura to set the record of ‘oldest man’ climbed the ‘Peak of Mt. Everest’. It’s a Nepalese. Min Bahadur Sherchan. He is only 77 years old 🙂 . He reached the top this morning, May 25.

Yuichiro Miura is supposed to be at the top tomorrow accompanied by his son. Although he could not set the record but his endeavours are great inspirations for us as well. And congratulations Mr. Bahadur. In the area, Bahadur means a ‘Hero who conquered a battle or duel or anything of that sort’. 

Example? 

Let’s say, you are walking in the forest just to get some fresh air and suddenly a tiger attacks you. Rather than being eaten by the beast, you kill him/her straight away with a mighty blow. Now you are a hero, you are our ‘Bahadur’. 🙂 🙂

Mt. Everest was first conquered by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in 1953. Sir Edmund Hillary was a New Zealand mountaineer and Tenzing Norgay was a Nepalese mountaineer. They reached the summit of Mt. Everest on 29^th of May 1953. 

And today is May 25. That shows how the last days of May are important for the mountaineers. They are making and breaking the records on May. 

The summit of Mt. Everest stands 8,848 meters above sea level.
