Good results

The monkey got used to the robotic arm in three days and improved continuously thereafter. So rather than using its arms, it could direct the robotic arms through brain signals to get the food.

Upon receiving signals from brain certain motor neurons initiate an action, may it be moving your hand to your right, or to move up or down to pick up something (let’s say). It will help greatly those suffering from spinal cord injuries and other diseases, and now are using prosthetic arms. The research will help scientists to develop brain-powered prosthetic arms which may be functioning almost 100% similar to natural limbs.

Great work Prof. Andrew Schwartz!!
