Opening the Desktop from MS-DOS command prompt

Sometimes you may need it, so let’s go:

by default, when you open the command prompt, you land usually here:

C:\Users\username>

type: cd desktop

C:\Users\username>cd desktop

press Enter

C:\Users\username\Desktop>

type: dir

C:\Users\username\Desktop>dir

press Enter

Now you have list of all the files and folders on desktop.

 

To close the command prompt, type exit

C:\Users\username\Desktop>exit

press Enter

 

To clean the messy command prompt, type cls

C:\Users\username\Desktop>cls

press Enter
