UA Public Health Students Blogging From Across Globe

*Students are blogging about their internship experiences from destinations as far away as Switzerland and Africa.*

At the University of Arizona, summer internships matter.

Three graduate students from the UA Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health are working as interns across the globe this summer.

From the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland to the city of Maseru in southern Africa, these students are making a difference – and writing about their experiences on blogs.

Deirdre Demers is a master’s student in the Global Family and Child Health track. She is creating an HIV prevention education program for a domestic abuse shelter in Tucson.

Karen Dreisbach is working toward a Master of Public Health in the Family and Child Health concentration. She is blogging about her internship in the Department of Food Safety and Zoonoses at the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland.

Jaclyn Pierson is working toward a Master of Public Health in Global Family and Child Health. She is living in the city of Maseru in the Kingdom of Lesotho, in southern Africa, completing an internship with UNICEF as part of her MPH coursework.
