A recent study from the Australian Institute of Marine Science found that 'coral growth' in the Great Barrier Reef has declined more than 13% since 1990.

Increasing ocean acidity could be one of the reasons that's destroying calcification (by the tiny coral polyps) of the reef . Australia's Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef on Earth.
