As I was looking for the answer, I came across to WikiAnswers, which says 'a cubic foot of top soil weighs 75 - 100 pounds'. let's say 100 pound. We make it in meters and kilograms,

1 ft * 1 ft * 1 ft = 100 pounds, or
0.3048 m * 0.3048 m * 0.3048 m = 100 pounds, or (1 ft = 0.3048 meter)
0.0283 cubic meter = 100 pounds, or
1 cubic meter = 100/0.0283 pounds = 3533.56 pounds, or
1 cubic meter = 3533.56 * 0.45359243 kilogram, or (1 pound = 0.45359243 kilogram)
1 cubic meter of soil = 1602.8 kilograms = 1.6 tons.

Therefore, 1 cubic meter of soil weighs 1.6 tons. Hope I am correct :) .
