I like to ……move it, move it

Then you would need ‘Mögen’.

‘Mögen’ is a modal verb. It means to like someone or something (past & past participle: mochte, gemocht).

In Present form:

Few Examples:

Mögen Sie Käse? – Do you like cheese?

Ich mag keinen Käse – I don't like cheese.

der Käse – Cheese (pl. die Käse)


Ich mag einfach keinen Kaffee – I simply don’t like coffee

Ich mag auch keinen Kaffee – I also don’t like coffee


Ich mag dich - I like you

Ich mag dich sehr - I like you very much


Er mag sie – He likes her

Sie mag ihn - She likes him


Was für Filme magst du? - What movies do you like?

Ich mag Liebesfilme - I like romantic movies

Ich mag Komödien - I like comedies

Thriller und Actionfilme mag ich ganz gerne - Thriller and action films I like very much.


Magst du Actionfilme? - Do you like action movies?

Nein, ich mag sie gar nicht. Ich mag lieber Komödien – No, I don’t like them (action films) at all. I prefer comedies.


Ich mag es, wenn du lächelst - I like it when you smile.

Verb: lächeln – to smile (past & past participle: lächelte, gelächelt)


Ich mag es, Sport zu machen - I like to make sport/ I like doing sport


Ich mag meinen Chef nicht - I do not like my boss

Ich mag den neuen Chef nicht - I do not like the new boss

der Chef – boss
