Ich bin einverstanden – I agree

Ich bin prinzipiell einverstanden – I agree in principle

Damit bin ich einverstanden - I agree with that/ That’s fine for me

*Note: Don’t confuse between einverstanden and verstanden, while einverstanden means to agree with someone/something, verstanden on the other hand means to understand something or someone. Verstanden is past participle of verstehen.

verstehen – to understand (past and past participle: verstand, verstanden)

Ich verstehe dein Problem – I understand your problem

Ich verstehe dein Problem nicht - I don‘t understand your problem

Ich habe es nicht verstanden - I did not understand it

Hast du mich verstanden? - Do you understand me?

Du hast mich falsch verstanden - You misunderstood me.

Further example with einverstanden: Your Boss can tell or explain you something and ask

Boss: Einverstanden? (meaning, do you agree with what I said?)

Your reaction: Einverstanden! (agreed, that means you agree with your Boss)


Das Stimmt – That’s true/ That’s right

Sie haben recht - You're right

Noch etwas? – Anything else?

Einen schönen Tag noch! – Have a nice day!


Some colloquial expressions:

Das ist Bescheuert – That‘s Stupid!/ That’s ridiculous!

Er ist bescheuert - He is stupid

Das ist mir Wurst - It does not matter to me

Ich habe die Nase voll davon - I am sick of it/I am fed up with it
