India’s newly passed Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) will make it easy to get citizenship for people from six religious minority groups fleeing persecution from three of its neighbouring countries. These three countries are: Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Six religious minority groups include: Hindu, Christian, Buddhist, Sikh, Jain and Parsi.

The new law makes it for the first time: 'religion' to be used as a criterion to obtain Indian citizenship. Something gravely opposite to the 'secular' face India showed the world during the last many decades. But today's new reality shows how Muslims are being hated deep inside Hindu majority India for over an unknown period of time.

The so-called 'secularism' was a mere diplomatic word Indian politicians and diplomats were selling to the outside world together with 'yoga' and 'meditation', that created an impression of a peaceful and soul-searching nation with many diversities in language, culture and religion.

The new Indian law clearly mentioning its Muslim majority neighbours Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan, gives you an impression, minority groups in these three South-Asian countries are being persecuted and India is their saviour. But what you see happening in reality: Kashmir is locked down, out of internet sinece August this year. Those living and studying abroad can't even contact their familes. Demonstrations are prohibited. Is this the new Indian form of democracy?

At least 23 people died across India since protests broke out after the new citizenship law. Now Indian authorities are even banning public gatherings imposing curfews in many states.

So this is the true India, persecuting its own minorities and naming neighbouring countries to take away world attention to save its own face.

Now once again, these six minority groups are: Hindu, Christian, Buddhist, Sikh, Jain and Parsi.

Here comes another serious and burning issue: Rohingya persecution in Myanmar. We all know, Rohingyas are mainly Muslims and their persecutors are peace-loving Buddhist monks and their followers. A genocide is currently taking place in Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi's Myanmar.

Surprisingly the new law says nothing about Muslims fleeing persecution in India's neighbouring non-Muslim country Myanmar. Currently an estimated 40,000 Rohingya refugees are in India. Will Indian authorities force them back to Myanmar to let the Suu Kyi's government end its persecution, eliminating the minority Muslim population there?

What a generous law! What a great democracy! - Indian style.
