Children who spent years in and out of the foster system are much more likely to become an obsessive hoarder as an adult. • Let Them Be In Control

For many hoarders, getting rid of their stuff, no matter how big or small can be heartbreaking. That is why you should always let them be in control. There may be times when you need to give them some tough love. However, you should never force them into doing something that they don’t want to do. You should always ask permission before throwing anything away or taking it for donations. One small slip up could undo all of your hard work and progress.
